The past two weeks have been slow, waiting for inspections and such. We were supposed to have our pre-drywall inspection and meeting all before Thanksgiving, but since the plumbing and electrical took a few days longer the meeting were pushed out.
Here is a picture of the air seal. I know it is hard to see, but all of the pink foam at all of the seams is the air seal.
After all of the trouble we were having, we decided we wanted to have a pre-drywall inspection from a 3rd party inspector. We wanted to make sure all of the "shady shit" that was going down was to code. The house actually appeared to be in pretty good condition, with only a few minor issues to fix. The items were: Rubber boot flashings were not installed yet, concrete floor in basement is still irregular where they fixed the bathroom rough in, the duct for the stove top was bent, and gaps appeared between the sealant between studs. I was happy to hear that when we huff and puff, we will not be able to blow our house down.
The following Monday we had our pre-drywall meeting with the contractor. We walked the entire house with him and he let us know all about the house progress, let us ask any questions we had, and covered all of the issues that were found in the inspection.
James and myself were REALLY busy with the house and spent a TON of time over there, even though not much was going on. One day we took pictures and video of every single wall. The purpose of this was to be able to see where all of the studs, electric, and plumbing are in the future. I printed out all of the pictures and we spent the next two nights detailing all of the walls, mainly measuring the distance between studs. We never had much success with stud finders and we would have done anything for this detail when fixing items in our current house. We were under a time crunch to get this information cataloged as the insulation and drywall were about to be hung!
Insulation in the master bedroom. Where is the pretty pink panther stuff?

The CRAZIEST thing about this week was the flame throwing inferno in our basement. A heat source is needed to dry the drywall mud, but holy moly this thing is SCARY. They had this beast about 2 feet from the wall. The basement was probably over 100 degrees and the wall was about the same. Wonder what temperature the wall has to reach to spontaneously combust? Good news, our house was still standing the following day. With their track record so far and the dumb people they have working for them, I could smell a disaster!
