Before I get into this weeks updates, let us talk about all of the issues we had this week. I swear this is a bad dream? Really, how is this sill happening?
On Wednesday, my neighbor found more urine in his basement. This is three days after he made them chip out and relay the concrete in his basement from the last urine. At this point he checked our house and we were good. My neighbor contacted our contractor's boss and they denied that it was urine after checking it out the next morning.
On Thursday we went to the house after work and I was sure to check out my basement and just guess what we found.....
Look at the waist height streams on the wall, and YES we did get evidence.
I called the contractor because I wanted him to come over to the house at that moment and of course he did not answer. I went down to the sales office, because I was not waiting till the following morning when it was going to be dry. The sales rep called management immediately and they had me send them the pictures. About 30 minutes later I did receive a call from the contractor who was highly apologetic and embarrassed that this keeps happening. He did say he was going to talk to his boss in the morning and this will be dealt with. In my case, he was not trying to tell me this was not urine. I got a call the following morning advising the concrete in my house would also be chipped out and replaced. I advised that was not necessary and that a good cleaning would suffice. Then on Friday we went over after work only to find more issues....
This is our neighbors house, but as you can see some type of equipment crashed into the siding and eff'ed up the new siding....
When we were leaving, I happened to notice that the garage door was being installed on my neighbor's house. This might not look terrible to most people, but with all of our issues I noticed immediately that it was not the correct garage door. The neighbor's house has all WHITE trim and the beige door was installed. Our house is the one with the beige trim and that was our door. The contractor was there and I did point this out to him.As for my neighbor he was really not happy with the response to his urine issues and wanted the same mitigation (chip away and relay the concrete) on his new areas. He ultimately decided he was done and not dealing with their BS anymore. After the further issues that happened with the garage door and his siding on Friday, I was in the market for a new Neighbor. I am sad. I am mad. I really liked this guy and I think he would have been a great neighbor. He really watched out for us and helped us with a lot so far. I just hope we get another great replacement and I hope that him and his family find a nice place after all of these issues. :( Boo!

ReplyDeleteI really hope that you got all the issues with your contractor sorted out! I cannot believe someone was peeing in your basement. That is beyond unprofessional. Hopefully that person was dealt with and the build continued on without any more crazy incidents! Good luck on your new home, I hope everything is going well in it!
